I completed sam's hat and it turned out much better than the first one. I couldn't quite figure out how to make the pattern i put on the other one work for this size and sam said he wanted a thicker pattern so I decided to go with the diamonds. 
I also have started working on some fingerless gloves for kyle that have a mitten flap to go over the fingers.

It looks great Rebekah!!! I wish I had the motivation to finish a project right now... or actually stick some on the needles. I've got the yarn and the patterns, but I haven't gotten started yet.
I love the hat!! The colors are so cute! I'm not so good at knitting and such! You got such a good talent.. and patience!
