I began working on this scarf last saturday. I have had the yarn for a long time and found this pattern in one of my books that I had. The pattern came out of the book 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders . The yarn is called Debbie Mumm Souvenirs and the color is eggnogg.
The picture in the book has a scarf that looks like this:
When I started knitting my scarf looked like this:

Just like a boring old scarf. I read the directions again and was doing everything right, I looked online to see if there were any typos in the book and there weren't, and I also looked on ravelry (a social networking for knitters website) and saw that no one else had made any comments about having trouble making the scarf. So I moved on, even when some people didn't think that it was going to turn out right, i kept going.
The book said that the magic happened at the end when you finished. So I finished and VOILA!!

Very nice! I still don't understand how it works, though....
At the end you basically just drop every 4th stitch so it unravels all the way down.
I'm glad it turned out the way it was suppose to. You will have to bring it next time you come down so I can see it.
Very Tricky
